vintage simplicity 6882 muslin

I found this vintage sewing pattern at a thrift store a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it. It's a 1970s dress with a really neat, pleated neckline. I used the front of the bodice pattern, but made my own unique pattern for the back. I made the muslin for the bodice out of recycled pillowcases!

  1. Cool, I like! I was looking around to see if I found that patern in my size. Not yet. I love it too! I'm so sick of the elastic waist bands on everything.

I just got my dress form and am going to use sheets for muslins. Got a ton of patterns, but not that one! I'll find it later, right now I've got a lot of sewing to catch up on. I own about 30 or 40 patterns that I like, not all of them fit.

I've got a bad attachment to culottes for some reason and I've got a pattern with no gathers, not elastic and a back zipper that I am dying to grade up to my size.

Look forward to seeing your finished dress. I hope it turns out well.
